Description Mikael Nilsson 2019-01-21 13:17:19 CET
After a Thinlinc session I want to close the thinlinc application but this is not possible by clicking the window X. The application disappears and promptly pops up again. The only way of getting rid of the Thinlinc client login window is to open the task manager on details and do "end process tree".

Please let us close the application after a session has ended.

Hi Mikael, could you make sure that you didn't start the "Loop ThinLinc Client" shortcut accidentally? This will make the ThinLinc client act like you describe.

We've talked about removing this loop shortcut from the standard client to avoid situations like this. This has been assigned bug 7246. If you can confirmed that the problem is resolved by avoiding the loop shortcut, I'll mark this bug as a duplicate of the other one.

If you're not using the loop shortcut by mistake, let's dig deeper into this problem.

You are indeed correct. When I type "thin" in windows it suggests "Loopa ThinLinc-klient" which I always thought was the correct program (it was so unexpected to see swenglish that I just thought Loopa was the company behind ThinLinc). Thanks!

Great, thanks for confirming.

5 years on this seems to be still happening. When searching for Thinlinc in Windows, users receive a shortcut that gives them an endless loop and the only way to stop it is to reboot their machine. Can this be removed from the install? or would I have to push out a separate fix to delete all the loopy shortcuts from appearing in menus?
