This is an example from CentOS 7 with the default Gnome desktop, and the Nvidia drivers.

> Executing profile: gnome
> Using XDG session: gnome
> Executing XDG session command: gnome-session
> gnome-session-is-accelerated: No hardware 3D support.
> gnome-session-check-accelerated: Helper exited with code 256
> gnome-session-is-accelerated: No hardware 3D support.
> gnome-session-check-accelerated: Helper exited with code 256
>
> ** (process:5134): WARNING **: software acceleration check failed: Child process exited with code 1

We've also seen problems on SLES 12 with Nvidia and Gnome.

We can start by writing platform specific notes to inform customers of the problem and possible workarounds. E.g.:

 - Avoid using the Nvidia driver
 - Change desktop environment
 - Use VirtualGL

For the last point we can do some tests ourselves and ask customers for their experience running entire desktop environments through VirtualGL.
