The standard print job format on Linux these days is PDF, not PostScript: http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/pdf_as_standard_print_job_format As such we should stop converting thinlocal jobs to PostScript before handing them over. Before we can do this change we need to investigate if there are any relevant systems out there that cannot handle PDF print jobs. Depending on the outcome it might be possible to drop poppler from the client package.
Possible printing issue caused by the conversion to PostScript: https://community.thinlinc.com/t/printing-issues-black-images/1006
The background issue seems to have been resolved in the upgrade of poppler in bug 8576. A switch to PDF might not be needed to resolve that issue.
