The PKLA backend for polkit has been deprecated. Some background:

It still happens to work, because there is a compatibility package still being shipped in most distros. But this will be removed eventually, and probably soon (I think the latest Debian release is the last one which will have it). So  we'll have to start using the new JavaScript-based backend instead.

This is unfortunately not the appropriate tracker for this issue as we track changes to the shipped product here. This needs to be moved to a todo list for the web.
