Igel has radically redesigned the OS for version 12. Instead of a big monolithic firmware, there is a base OS image, and then individual application packages. They will support "custom partition", the method we currently use, for OS 12. But they do consider it to be a legacy thing, and want users/vendors to provide application packages instead. Igel will maintain the ThinLinc packaging for now, just as they have done for ThinLinc in the old monolithic firmware. But we need to consider if we should take over this packaging responsibility, as it would be wasteful for us to package things in the new way for our client bundle, but then not upload it to Igel's "app store".
