The "Logfile placement" documentation only talks about Linux and Windows.

This has been broken since commit 32555 for bug 6963 that was done as part of ThinLinc 4.9.0. Prior to that this section talked about Unix logfiles and Windows logfiles.

Fixed now, added a separate section for macOS.
