With the built-in connection methods (such as RDP or Citrix), you enter the connection details into the connection manager, and when you press "play"/start a connection, a session automatically starts.

ThinLinc, on the other hand, does not ask for a server name or credentials when setting up a connection, so when the ThinLinc client connection starts, you're left with the standard ThinLinc Client GUI asking for server name and credentials.

This behavior doesn't play well with some assumptions of the ThinPro Power Management system - when a connection is active, the system never enters a power-saving sleep mode.
