On Windows, the "wow64" component is required to run 32 bit applications on 64 bit systems. Since Windows 2008 R2, this component is optional. (Ref: Google "windows wow64 optional"). This means that it is impossible to install WTS Tools on such server. Some other products also have this problem; see https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH185788.html . We should provide a 64 bit installer for WTS tools; perhaps even replace the 32 bit installer we have, if it is acceptable to drop support for 32 bit Windows platforms. (Note however that this is different from dropping support for 32 bit Windows applications.)
rdesktop (and associated tools) is being removed from the ThinLinc product.
