First, a bit of background: An application group in TLDC ties together a single menu (or submenu), applications to be placed on the desktop or on the "start menu", and access rights (user/group/profile/command).

Use case: A group of users should have access to specific applications, say application 1 to 3, distributed across several different menus - let's say "Internet", "Office", and "Science". That would result in the following menu structure

> Internet/
> Application 1
> Office/
> Application 2
> Science/
> Application 3

Today, we require that you create three(!) application groups and duplicate the access right configuration across all three. It would be much nicer if we could allow application groups to include applications in different menus, so this setup could be expressed within a single application group.

This would make life easier for system administrators since they won't have to duplicate their access configuration over multiple application groups. It will also cut down on the number of application groups required, which makes it easier to get an overview of what's configured on the system.
