We currently don't have a logout function in the web administration interface - perhaps we should implement one.

Not possible with current architecture as far as we know. To solve this we would have to use a more modern approach with cookies for authentication.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_access_authentication describes two ways of having the browser forget cached credentials, although these may not work in all browsers.
