http://cubiq.org/add-to-home-screen seems very nice, we should probably integrate it with the HTML5 client.

Android browsers also have this feature, so we need to look at that platform as well.

Note that there are problems with "Add to Home Screen" with Google's Pixel Launcher (Our Pixel C tablet uses that launcher by default):

At least take note of the behavior described in bug 6058 when implementing this.
